1. Welcome.

  • Sally welcomed everyone to the meeting.

2. Agree and sign minutes from last meeting.

  • These were signed and agreed.

3. Matters arising from last meeting.

  • Fete - a huge thank you to everyone involved, £10 more than last year raised despite colder weather - £360 final amount raised. Everyone enjoyed the day and it was mentioned that people will come back even though their children may not be attending Pre-School.

  • Photographer - Concept Photography booked for 7 November arriving at 8.45 and will stay as long as needed. About 10 minutes per parent to be co-ordinated on a trial basis - flyers and leaflets to be given out.

  • Enquiry Forms - quiet at present.

  • Dentons advert now in recent publication.

4. Chair's Report.

  • Staff at Hilltop have enquired about a change in job titles, it was decided to define the Helper role perhaps change to Preschool Assistant. It was also decided that the other titles should be Assistant Supervisors and Supervisors. Contracts and job descriptions to be amended accordingly.

  • Open Day letters - Day set for 31 August - need a list of all new children starting to be invited, which will run from 10am until 2.30pm. Depending on amount of children attending split times to be given.

  • We very sadly received Elaine's resignation as she is moving to pastures new, she will be working to end of July, Rose and Sally to look at what resources will be needed and possibly recruit. We wish Elaine the best and it is very sad to see her go.

  • The burglar alarm at Brampton - there has been problems where slight disturbances would set it off, it seems fine at the moment. Sally is thinking as current contract is due to end in August maybe we should look at using someone else. To consider ADT who write for routine inspections at convenient times and will just take over the current system, this is to be looked at.

  • Carnival - we have a pitch booked and have to turn up on Wednesday to obtain this on a first come first served basis. Being a charity the pitch is free. Books, sweets, and toys have been requested. Lucky Dip game to be done at £1a go. Drinks sold, Staff/committee members available to attend to meet at 10.30.

  • Fundraising - Carole has been contacted by "The Big Fundraiser" Kath explained about the book which contains money saving vouchers. No outlay to playgroup, £4 given back for every one we sell. It was decided we should try this starting this term as it would be ideal ready for the summer. Carole will liaise with her contact.

  • End of term party - Carole has offered her house for the party. It has been decided for Thursday 13 July at 8pm, Carole to advise staff/committee what to bring along.

5. Treasurer's Report.

  • The financial position is very much the same as last year, with income slightly down by £773 on the same time last year due to changing in funding. Expenses have also increased by £2,056 so current position on this date last year is at the moment a difference £2,830, interim cheques to be received. Major expenses have now gone out with only wages and fees left to go out. If we are losing out on interim cheques we should be charging parents, this is to be looked at.

6. Brampton Report.

  • Scrap Store - Rose was not sure if you have to be a member or do you get a discount, Rose and Carole tried to sort this out without any luck. Staff are to decide if need to join. Also to look at another warehouse possibly Hancocks.

  • Leavers Party on 25 July and Parent Reps are arranging everything.

  • Flower Show - 28 July - Rose to ring and book a table.

7. Brampton Parent Rep's Report.

  • None.

8. Hilltop Report.

  • Leavers Party on 21 July - entertainer lined up, 12.45pm for two hours.

9. Hilltop Parent Rep's Report.

  • None.

10. Any Other Business.

  • Letting of St Josephs, project moving forward, take 34 weeks to build, 19 March 2007 20th anniversary, 1 May 2007.

11. Next Meeting.

  • Next committee meeting will be held at Brampton on Monday 11th September.
