2. Matters arising from last meeting. |
- The problem with the railings and door at Hilltop
are still outstanding with the council.

3. Chair's Report. |
- Sally welcomed everyone back and hoped they had a good holiday.
Kath Holden and Hilary Charman were introduced as prospective
committee member who may join us in November at the AGM.
|
|
- Gil Luney will be leaving playgroup on 20th
September, she is sent our best wishes for the future.
|
|
- Closing date for the Assistant vacancy is 13th
September.
|
|
- Ali Newth left Hilltop during the summer and
Claire Godby has joined in the role of Helper.
|
|
- An information guide was produced during the
summer which will be given to parents when their children join
playgroup.
|
|
- New parents have been sent a letter inviting them
to the AGM which will be held on 14th November at 8pm. Key workers
will approach existing parents.
|
|
- Parent Rep's are needed from Brampton and Hilltop
Pre-Schools, Rose and Carole will approach parents.
|
|
- Sally will shortly be completing Carole and Rose's
appraisals. Following this Rose and Carole will undertake appraisals
for other members of staff.
|
|
- Children's sweatshirts and t-shirts are very
popular. For the future orders will be sent to the supplier in
batches.
|
|
- A white plastic board with the new logo has been
ordered and will be displayed in a window at Hilltop.
|
|
- Staff were asked to decide when they needed
in-service days. Playgroup are will finance up to 5 days during the
year.
|
|
- Sally and Julia will be meeting Paul Tompkins, a
business manager from North Somerset Council, Early Years
Department, on 21st September.
|
|
- Staff at Hilltop were asked if they would decorate
the window during any quiet times they have.
|
|
- It was pointed out that this is the last meeting
apart from the AGM before the Victorian Evening in December.
|
|
- A First Aid course has been booked and will be
undertaken for most staff.
|
|
|
|
4. Treasurer's Report.
|
- The end of year accounts have been submitted to the accountants.
|
|
- Income exceeded expenditure over the last year by over £4000.
|
|
- Details of the pay increase were given out to each member of
staff. Everyone will receive in the region of 4%. Payments made for
Key workers have also been increased.
|
|
- Julia has been informed by the Fire Prevention Officer that the
fire system should be checked regularly. Three quotes were obtained
from companies regarding maintaining the system, the cheapest was
Southern Fire. An appointment has been arranged for them to inspect
the system.

|
- Session fees will increase to £6.00 from January. This change
will be announced at the AGM.
|
|
- A Laptop Computer has been purchased for the playgroup and
committee to use. All information relevant to Playgroup will be
stored on the computer.
|
|
- Julia asked if staff can claim the time they spent at playgroup
during the open day on 1st September on an overtime form.
|
|
- Julia fully understands all the current changes to Government
Funding and is happy to help with any queries or confusion.

5. Brampton Report.
|
- Sessions are filling up. Any spare sessions are being offered to
children who currently attend Brampton.
|
|
- There is no water in the taps near the children's toilets. Sally
will contact a plumber.

- Rose asked if they could spend approx. £300 on new children's
toys. This was agreed.

|
- The doorbell has been stolen again. A new one is needed.

- Term dates are need to book the hall from January onwards.

- Hilltop Toddlers has been taken over by Sally Beesley.
|
