1. Agree and sign minutes from last meeting.

  • These were signed and agreed.
 
 

2. Matters arising from last meeting.

  • Flan Ball from North Somerset District Council is no longer responsible for Hilltop hall, his replacement will be approached regarding the problem with graffiti and painting the porch.

3. Chair's Report.

  • Sally Melson has been interviewed by OFSTED and cleared as 'suitable' to be chairperson.
 
  • The Operational Plan is to be looked at. It needs to include the management structure, which is currently not included.

  • A Prospectus for the playgroup in the format of an A4 ring binder is currently being planned. Ideas regarding the information it should contain are welcome.

  • The AGM will be held on Monday 14th November, the meeting will be followed by a parents evening. Letters will be sent to new parents approx. mid-August.
 
  • Logo Competition - a trustee will be asked to judge the competition. New sweatshirts, note paper etc. will show the new logo.
 
  • Staff have been asked to decide between themselves which two colours they would like for sweatshirts / polo shirts / cardigans.
 
  • At the Carnival on 11th June the playgroup stall will sell sweets, drinks, books and have a lucky dip.
 
  • New posters advertising the playgroups will be displayed in as many places as possible.
 
  • Portishead Paper has agreed to display our advertisement for spaces as often as they are able to.
 
  • Our web site - www.portisheadplaygroups.co.uk is constantly changing and being updated and the e-mail is working. Gil suggested changing the word vacancies to staff vacancies in order to avoid confusion with places for children.
 
  • Ten Pin Bowling - A night out is being arranged for Thursday 26th May at Hollywood Bowl the cost is £10 per person.
 
  • A staff/committee Barbecue will be held at Brampton on 17th July at 2pm. Partners/Families will be very welcome.
 
  • The summer Fete will be on 9th July 12.00 - 3.00pm at Brampton.
 
 

4. Treasurer's Report.

  • New contracts will soon be given to all staff. These will no longer show the hours an individual works.

  • Normal Working Hours Sheets have been updated and were given out.
 
  • A letter explaining the changes to Government Funding has been given to parents.
 
  • Our current financial position is good. We are due one more funding cheque.
 
  • Charges for hiring Hilltop hall have increased to £5.40 per session and £8.25 per week for the garage.
 
  • Hilltop will be closed on Polling Day 5th May, anyone who has paid for a session will receive a refund.
 
 

5. Brampton Report.

  • The Easter raffle raised £46 and £126 was received from Funding Direct. This money has been used to buy new toys.
 
  • It was agreed that a TV and video which has been donated to the playgroup will be sold as it is not currently used.
 
  • The first In-Service day went well.
 
  • Rose and Carole will be attending a Management course in May.
 
 

6. Brampton Parent Rep's Report.

  • Parent Rep's will soon be getting together to plan the Leaver's Party on 18th July.
 
 

7. Hilltop Report.

  • New staff have settled in well.
 
 

8. Hilltop Parent Rep's Report.

  • A Leaver's Party is being arranged for Friday 15th July.
 
 

9. Any Other Business.

  • Nothing was raised.

  • Next Meeting Monday 13th June at 8pm.
